Hailing from Denmark, Animalyze is a glam-rock powerhouse known for their explosive energy, catchy sing-along lyrics, wild riffs, and thundering drums. Their electrifying stage presence has left audiences enthralled and eager to see what surprises their next show might bring. “Truly an event to fill any lusting rock soul out there,” says one fan, echoing the sentiments of many who have experienced Animalyze live. The band burst onto the scene in 2022 at Copenhagen’s underground rock club, High Voltage. Starting as an unpaid warm-up act, they quickly stole the spotlight. Their triumphant return to the venue saw them headline three sold-out shows. Since then, they’ve taken over some of Denmark’s most iconic stages, including Rust, Pumpehuset, and Cirkusbygningen. Their rising fame has even earned them features in Danish magazines like SE&HØR and Sladderkongen. “When you go to an Animalyze concert, you don’t just listen to the music—you witness a mind-blowing act. The show is a founding pillar of our DNA,” the band proclaims. Animalyze’s sound is a tribute to the raw, untamed spirit of 1980s rock. The eye-popping colors, bold hairstyles, outrageous outfits, and boundless energy of that era are brought vividly to life in their performances. “We don’t just do concerts—we do shows, blending music, visuals, and energy into one unforgettable experience,” the band explains. The journey of Animalyze began in 2017 when lead guitarist Clay Ronson and drummer Chris Clark discovered their shared passion for music and performing. However, finding the right singer and bassist proved to be a challenge. In 2021, Chris stumbled upon a post that led them to lead vocalist Vikki Mahrt, whose energy and talent reignited their dream. The lineup was solidified in early 2022, and in March 2024, bassist Mike Lauren joined the band, completing the quartet. Fans clamored for music to enjoy beyond live performances, prompting the band to release their first two singles in 2023. Drawing from old tracks written by Clay and Chris, the singles “Can’t Be Tamed” and “Hot But Dangerous” were recorded at the renowned ARK Studio and the modern Panalama Studio, respectively. Critics have praised their work, with one reviewer stating: “These boys are definitely something! They have the right attitude, just like the glam-rock bands of the 80s. It’s incredible that they sound like they grew up in Hollywood back then, even though they weren’t born in that era. How cool is that?” . Animalyze is more than just a band—they are a revival of glam-rock’s golden age, infused with a modern edge and relentless drive. As they continue to captivate audiences and push boundaries, one thing is certain: this Danish quartet is here to stay, and they’re just getting started.
